Ongoing programme highlights to enjoy

  • Find out about Tudor food and see it cooked on the Mary Rose’s replica galley, with The Mary Rose Museum and joining them on Saturday and Sunday, The Tudor Group.
  • Meet Confederate officers, sailors and gunners of The Alabama Crew on board HMS Warrior 1860. (Sat and Sun only).
  • See WWI crewmen of The Bluejackets aboard Monitor M33 (supported by Hampshire County Council Museum Service)
  • Discover C18th to C19th living history in the Storehouse 10 colonnades
  • Visit the 1940’s and D-Day exhibit by the Portsmouth D-Day Museum by Anchor Lane.
  • See living history and displays commemorating the Battle for the Falklands in 1982, presented by Forces 80 by Boathouse 7.
  • See demonstrations of rope making and knot tying by the Victory Riggers in the Storehouse 10 colonnades and in the FSL Apprentices workshop see engineering through the ages near Anchor Lane.
  • See model boats from 19th century galleons to the modern serving fleet supplied by Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team, Portsmouth and District Power Boat Club and the Surface Warship Association.
  • Take a rare opportunity to visit St Ann’s Church in Anchor Lane to admire the Flower festival and listen to music.
  • Pop into the Naval Historical Branch to find out about your naval ancestors and how to research Family History every morning in the Naval Historical Branch.

          Present Zone

  • At Basin No.1 support the daring that are raising money for Marie Curie by tackling the highest and longest zip wire in the country.
  • Play up Pompey in the kids zone and have a go on climbing walls, bouncy castles, have a go penalty shoot out and your photo taken with the FA Cup (at certain times throughout the day)
  • Thrill seekers can experience life as a Harrier pilot in the simulator by HMS Illustrious

          Future Zone

  • Watch out for the Royal Navy Diving Display Team in a giant tank by HMS Illustrious.
  • Marvel at the size of the new CVF carrier being designed by BVT by checking out the distance between the towers.
  • Behind the scenes of the Royal Navy – a walk through exhibition of support given to all RN ships by BVT.
  • Experience engineering at first hand in the display by HMS Sultan Air Engineering School and get up close to the Field Gun north of HMS Illustrious.
  • Get up close to the weapons and talk to the people serving in Iraq and Afghanistan in the Royal marines tent adjacent to HMS Gloucester. 
  • See life on a modern day mine hunter in Basin No.2
  • Go aboard HMS Enterprise to sample modern day surveying techniques.
  • Chill out and listen to the Navy’s future talent on the Ship Stage.
